Wind power engineering - 3D Measurement of the casting

The customer is a related company that produces wind power equipment. The large generator head which they have needs to be measured, and it is about 3 meters in diameter. It requires complete data collection including the bottom with an accuracy of ±3mm. The accuracy is used for main measurement of dimensions, and then output an inspection reports, and finally save data. The data is used for connection with customers.

Solution

RigelScan × MarvelShot

First, the MarvelShot is used to collect the markers from the inside of the bottom circle to the outside. MarvelShot uses the principle of photogrammetry to accurately measure the markers on the surface, thereby improving the volume accuracy of the handheld scanner.

The large-scale scanning mode is combined with the standard mode of Rigel Scan Elite to collect complete data on the surface of the casting. Due to the large size of the workpiece, the customer required the higher resolution which is 0.8mm. Because of the large amount of scanned data, after collecting and scanning multiple projects, the overall markers collected by MarvelShot are merged, and the scanning of large workpieces was finished.
